Class 225 DMU
In 1978, the Borawian government announced the large scale modernisation programme for Borawian Railways. As part of the modernisation programme, 24 two-car Class 225 units were ordered, all built at Eibar Locomotive Works in Western Borawia. The units entered service in June 1980.
The units feature the raised driving cab, so that passengers could sit at the front or rear window. However, only the driver can be seated on the cab, so as a result the conductor's compartment is provided inside the Driving Motor Lavatory vehicle instead. The units are fitted with Detroit 8V-92 engine and have a capable maximum speed of 121 Km/h (75 mph).
The Class 225 units have been running for over 30 years and are still running today, however it is planned to be replaced with new DMUs in the next few years.
